Abbey - The Office Dog Mascot

Abbey the dog chewing her bone

I'm the mascot for the 75th Street Medical Center.

I'm an eleven year old, yellow lab and a native of New Jersey. My owner, Dr. Victor Gong, takes me to work with him every day. The next time you stop by the office, don't forget to say hello. I enjoy my role as an ambassador or greeter to the patients and friends who visit our medical facility. You can pet me anytime. Don't feel shy about giving me a dog bone; it's good for my teeth!

At our center, we hate to keep you waiting, but there are times when emergencies just can't be avoided. To pass the time, come by and say hello to me - I'm in my doghouse, just outside the front door. If you need superior family or urgent medical care (human care), visit my doctors at the 75th Street Medical Center Ocean City!

Abbey being herself

Here at work, I'm everybody's best friend! Just a little bit about me, I'm very active in the community. I take obedience classes at the North Side Park in Ocean City and have won two ribbons in my class. I've been told that I'm a favorite in my class, that's why my teacher referred me to Salisbury to enter the Salisbury Kennel Club dog show. Although, I did not place in the novice division, I did finish the course and plan to return next year for my novice title!!! I was up against some top dogs from the area. In fact, I was one of twenty who participated in the dog show. When I'm not in doggie classes, I enjoy spending my time with my mom and dad, playing, eating and sleeping. Something interesting about me is I went through Dr. Gong's weight loss program and lost 20 lbs in four months, my vet was so thrilled about my rapid weight loss that she uses me as an example of how man's best friend can also lose weight. Amazing huh!!!

One of the great things about working around doctors in that you pick up all kinds of interesting and useful information. Being the generous, caring, wonderful girl that I am, I will share some of their wisdom with you:

Pet First Aid Kit

  • Tweezers
  • Thermometer – Normal body temperature for dogs and cats is 101-102 F
  • Water
  • Styptic Powder
  • Bandage Material
  • Syrup of Ipecac
  • Unmedicated Eyedrops
  • 325 mg. Buffered Aspirin
  • Triple Antibiotic Ointment
  • Antiseptic Solution for Washing Wounds
  • Scissors
  • Blanket

This stuff should fit nicely in a lunch box or toolbox (except for the blanket, of course). If you were wondering, it can be used for human injuries too.

Don't forget to stop by to say hello on your next visit!
